10 GHz Beacon Project cont.

Phase 2 - The final assembly

After several iterations of the design I acquired another M/A Brick set to 10224 MHz.

This allows me to use a single mixing stage, with the  IF, a filter and an amplifier.

We mix 10224 MHz with an IF of 144.300 MHz to produce the 10368.300 output.

Mixer, filter and amplifier.

Mixer feed to the amplifier. Note the 2dB pad on the input. This amplifier requires +12 VDC.

LO input, Beacon output, IF input.

Housing with the brick oscillator and it's power supply. This brick requires -20VDC.

Beacon assembly.

Connector view, beacon assembly.

Seems the LO frequency is off a bit.

That's better...
