June 14th and 15th, VHF and above contest, 2008

The skip on 6M and 2M was great. My first experience with 2M skip. I rover'd to DM65sf at the parking lot of the 10K South trailhead on Sandia Mountain near the Crest. Elevation is about 10,000' at this location. All antennas were pointed to the North.

2m 4el yagi, 50W.

70cm 5el yagi, 20W.

13cm 24dBi dish, 40mW.

9cm 24dBi dish, 1 mW. The wire dish is specified 24dBi at 2.4GHz.

5cm 24dBi dish, 1W, 29dBi circular test dish.

3cm 30dBi dish, 1W    I'm very optimistic on the dish performance. A 19.8dBi horn was also used, and was pointed somewhat skyward so its performance was about 12dB below the dish.

1.25 cm horn, 100mW estimated.

10K trailhead on Sandia Crest road.

3cm dish, 5cm dish, 5cm/9cm/13cm dish, 1.25cm horn, 2m and 70 cm yagis.

Looking at Los Alamos.

3cm worked quite well from here.
