3cm Beacon Project

After various experiments with an LO frequency of 10224 MHz and an IF radio  I decided upon a

scheme to use 10368.300 MHz as the LO, and use a Pin Absorptive Modulator to control the output signal.

See Beacon Pg2, Pg3, Pg4 and Pg5 for original schemes.

The sub-assemblies of the beacon.

WR-75 waveguide filter and 10GHz amplifier.

+12v to -20v converter, LO brick, pin modulator all mounted on the box exterior.

MorseGen module. This circuit keys the pin modulator according to its programmed character sequence.

The parts ready for assembly.

The filter and amplifier tray slides into the box.

The MorseGen module and backing plate mount to the rear of the box.

The assembly slide together with a couple of internal connections.

This is a self contained unit. Supply +12vdc to it and get a 25mW 10 GHz beacon at 10368.300 MHz.
